Most of Maguire's cheerleaders use his passing and 'premier league experience' as a selling point.

Is that it? Is that what we're paying 80m for?

What does he do well?

Passing. Ok.
Solid in the air. Ok. So is Smalling.

Is he quicker, stronger, better reader of the game. Doubtful.

He's maybe a bit better than Smalling.

If he comes and steps it up then fair enough, but this guy has done the square root of £#%&! all to deserve these plaudits in teams that consistently concede goals.
Good to find out that Smalling is as good as Maguire. Must make him worth about 60m in this market. I hear City need a good defender. Sell him and replace him with slab head. Net loss of only 20m. Everyone's happy.

In fact the only team that conceded more goals than United in the top 13 places.. was Watford.

And if Maguire was to go to literally any other club he'd be world class and we'd be an embarrassment. And so the magic roundabout turns.

Maguire's fee is ridiculously inflated. Which is why he isn't here

Smalling is 30.

I've said Maguire is better than Smalling.

Any snarky @#%&!s actually want to rattle off all the things Maguire does so well, all the great games he's played and memorable performances, good defences he's been part of.

Seeing as he's laughably better than Smalling, it shouldn't be difficult.

“Why are we letting English talent in their prime go to other clubs? Under Fergie we’d have had this wrapped up already blah blah blah”

I don’t think anyone’s claiming he’s £#%&!ing Baresi.

Can’t say I watch Leicester week in week out, but whenever I have seen him he looks at the least solid, and very comfortable on the ball.

Does that make him worth £80m? Probably not. But if you compare him to the revolving door of utter £#%&!wits we’ve had playing at the back recently, displaying all the stability of Puressence doing the Riverdance on a 3-legged table, I don’t see how you can argue he wouldn’t be a significant upgrade

Loves a meme
Might attract Sancho
Has played in the premier League
Has a huge head that the ball could hit
Catalyst for others to leave
Possibility of a new Song
Scored in the world cup
Better than what we've got
A leader in the making
This is what supporting the manager looks like
Scored a pre season goal, raised his hand
Physically shit himself when we were mentioned
World be world class at any other club

This, and tell them to £#%&! off while we're at it.

The whole thing is a £#%&!ing joke tbh, no pre season, should be match fit and getting a good partnership with Linders by Xmas

I can see it now, our new manager talking about slab head next summer saying he will be much better following a full pre season with the club.

The season starts in a £#%&!ing week

So it's been going up in £5m increments week by week. Nice one Leicester. You miss out on an obscene pay day and have a slapped arse on your hands. Really good business

I'd like him but walk away ffs.

At £70m it made a lot of sense. It was a lot of money but his league experience justified the premium.

At £95m we may as well look elsewhere and take the risk on someone like Koulibaly who could surely be signed for £60m. We don't have a bottomless wallet and we need money spent elsewhere.
