Is it my imagination or do modern footballers just give up and throw in the towel when facing adversity much more often

These sorts of matches when one team just collapses and surrenders to self pity seem to happen all the time these days

Everton "no longer require" a £30m loan for their £500m Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium because the club "had found alternative sources of funding", says Liverpool mayor Steve Rotheram.
