Might come down to how honest he is with himself. If his form hasn't improved, I like to think he'll want to bow out. Whatever you say about Rooney, there's no doubt the lad knows himself what state he's in. If he can't play himself out of it, maybe he will want to move on.

Not many players would go before being pushed, but it may be that Rooney finds it hard to stay. Would be easier if he wasn't captain.

If LvG wants to get rid of him then he'll have to drag Rooney kicking and screaming from the club
It will get messy and I can't see how he could play a testimonial under those circumstances

He needs Roy Keane style sacking more like than testimonial.

I think you'll find that the proceeds from the testimonial will go to the charity associated with Coleen's young cousin (?) that died tbh.
