Default Team v Arsenal

Don't think there's been a thread yet has there?

anyway

I want to see:

VDS

Wes (tough one but I think his tackling will be needed)
Evans
Vidic
Evra

Valencia
Fletcher
Carrick
Giggs

Rooney
Berbatov

Though I imagine there will be a 3rd central midfielder in there or SAF may pick Nani on the left with Giggs in front of Carrick/Fletch. (which I wouldnt oppose either)

2-1 United

Fergie wont play with 2 up top, especially after Rooney's last two appearances.

He wont play two up but he should. If Vermaelan is out, they'll struggle against two good wingers and two strikers.

Will probably play 3 in midfield though, tell Fletch to just stick to Fabregas all game, frustrate the hell out of him and stop him playing.

I'd go for that but not sure about Valencia in a middle three. Who else is there though. Scholes is too old for this.

Really hope Park isn't playing. I know about the European Cup Semi last year btw but Ronaldo isn't here now.

A mere oversight on my part, Park is a shoe in for tomorrow.

Agreed. I'd like to see two strikers, they'll have BGS in the middle of their defence if Vermaelen isn't there, surely someone can see the absolute liability he is & exploit it...

Valencia & Rafael down the right for me, Arshavin will be back on their left & Bendtner up top, & he doesn't track back so we could get joy down that side. He certainly made a big difference last time we needed someone to inject a bit of pace there - Neville was destroyed in that game

valencia did play there for wigan, albeit badly. give him a chance. the only other option i think is gibson ffs. id rather start the game with 10 men.

So would I but I'd honestly rather not if it means Berbatov isn't playing.

Yup, BGS and Silvestre, or am I missing someone? If it's those two we have to play two up, they're £#%&!ing useless

As long as Darren Fletcher doesn't let Fabregas dictate the play we will win.

I'd go 4 5 1 to match them, will struggle with a 2 man midfield against there 3 especially if Fletch is told to keep an eye on Fabregas.

Gallas will be playing I believe. However, if BGS does play, it means they have to drop deeper, that then leave space for a 2nd striker, in this case it's surely got to Berbatov, to drop off & exploit the gaps. Arsenal will always play an open game, they can't (wont, incapable of?) compact the rest of the team because they wont have any pace up top with Bendtner there. Their wide players will need to be watched, but if Fletcher limpits himself onto Fabregas it's unlikely anyone else will be able to split our defence.

Depends on who's fit I guess for them, if they start with Arshavin up top it'll be a strange game.
