was giving it some thought over the last few days.

i don’t grealish is that good and if you limit de bruyne who is getting older haaland is useless.

plus the over all quality of the league is going up.
Newcastle are in a new bracket and villa have done well this summer.

unless city spend they don’t have the quality to go on that post February run.

Personally think we’re selling much better this window
You can’t compare teams selling their best players to us trying to off load our deadwood
We’ve done very well to get 30 mill for Maguire

We did the right thing not going for Kane
Levy would never have sold him to us and if he actually somehow would it would have to be far higher than what Bayern are paying
I think Bayern are buying him now because if it gets to January , they are now competing with other clubs who Kane would rather join like the Spanish big 2 , United etc

If Bayern don’t get him now they won’t. Plus playing in that shit league he will guarantee their total monopoly of that shit league continues until 2026ish

city's squad is actually tiny if they don't recruit.

a first choice front 6 of rodri, KDB, Bernardo, foden, grealish, haaland is great, but not much behind it. Alvarez, kovacic and Phillips are the only senior midfield/attacking back ups

Clutching at straws but hoping for a van Persie effect.

We have no info other than Bayerns interest or how committed they are.

Kane might well be pissed off with Levy from previous and I doubt he is making it any easier this time around. Hope he does a Sol Campbell and runs it down leaving Levy helpless. There’d be a lot of competition for him but they don’t come much bigger than United. By January/February, we’ll be looking like a new team fighting on 4 fronts. He’ll be dying to step out at Wembley for his charity shield debut alonsbig Raz.

Haaland won’t be as potent and losing gundogan and mahrez means their squad is not great.

Foden and Cole palmer off the bench is very meeeeh.

Are we really doing this to ourselves? Pretending that City are going to fall off a cliff? Jesus christ, lads.

City are in their 'purring machine' phase where they are winning trophies on almost auto-pilot the same way United were in the late 90s and 2000s. They are utterly dominant, the system they play where it's all about the collective rather than relying on individuals will see them through. Oh and the small matter of having the best manager in the world, the best club set up and virtually all the best players.

Don't delude yourself to thinking that they're somehow going to hit reverse like United did in 2009 and just suddenly start signing the obertans and Valencia's whilst selling off the prize china to real madrid. No other top club in the world will see about their own self destruction the way United did post 2009. It's fantasy.

City will dip a little bit when Guardiola knocks it on the head and not a moment before and my instinct is that he'll decide he's had enough roughly around the time those 150 charges come home to roost.

That new contract in England on a free next summer will be too much to resist imo.

Listening to Talkshite earlier - some discussion saying Kane wasn’t that keen on the move - wishful thinking but has he heard of interest from another club and is looking to delay any decision

In the old days we would've slapped a bid down like we did for berbatov but those days are long gone.

We did that on the last day or two of the window IIRC.

Kane would have been a game changer for us - exactly what we need at this precise moment - a cantona/van persie type signing. I accept that it was never going to happen so fair enough, what do we do, we go out and overpay for Hojlund and Mount. And last season get openly raped over Antony. All players that will hopefully develop and come good but non of them game changers. Very very expensive bodies.

It would be nice if we were on the right side of this for once.
Saying we've 'overpaid' for mount and hojlund is nothing but pure speculation.

We have no idea if we've overpaid underpaid or paid market value for them and won't until they're sold or retire having won a couple of quadruples...

They wouldn't have made multiple bids if he wasn't interested in going.
