Have you seen this Serenity? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...ls/7066112.stm A good read. His comments re Aguero at the end are interesting too.
Cheers. You definitely have to give a lot of credit to Pekerman and Toccali. Although it's quite amusing that Vickery writes this almost immediately after making a point of noting Argentina's lack of big number 9s in his previous column

As for Aguero, I'm not sure about the comparison with Romario, to be honest. I can see why he's made the comparison, he's certainly not the first to do so, but for me Romario was more of a finisher than Aguero. Aguero can certainly score goals, but I don't think he's a natural marksman like Romario. He's also typically much more involved in the build-up than Romario was.

He actually came through the youth system at Independiente as an enganche, but was moved forward once he entered the first team. Independiente played a 4-4-2 and Aguero played as a second striker, just as at Atleti, but for Independiente we would drop off the play a lot more to act as a playmaker. Aguirre likes him to push forward more than he naturally would, with his freedom of movement coming from a higher position around the opposition's box instead.

Interestingly enough, this positional shift is essentially the exact opposite of what happened with Tevez - although Tevez was eventually shifted forward again.
