For the record, I am not despairing tonight. I was never anywhere close to tears. It wasn't that kind of game.

I do think it's fair enough to do so after some matches though.

I cried the night we won the Champions League in 1999....I wasn't sobbing or anything!...just very emotional, tears streaming down my face.

I've never cried because United lost (certainly not in my 'adult' life...probably did when I was a little kid)....I just feel like killing people when we lose!
...& I couldn't fight my way out of a paper bag so I'm hardly likely to go looking for a scrap.

I don't know...£#%&!, it's just starting to sink in...what a missed opportunity that was tonight.. ...Why do we find it SO hard to play away in Europe??..why can't we get over those last hurdles..when it really matters.
It's so hard to take.

Ah well, we could be Champions this time next week...& hopefully our next European Cup Final (if we ever get to one again) will be against an illustrious overseas opponent & not a scabby local rival who seem intent on tarnishing the competition for ever more.

I disagree with that. Real passion isn't a logical thing that you can just turn on and off.

Personally I've never cried over football, but it has affected me in ways that it shouldn't.

So you can't be passionate AND rational? Both are absolutes, mutually exclusive and cannot co-exist?

Don't be a moron.

Very good WUM or complete @#%&!.

I used to think the latter but this thread is like an epiphany.

I should've guessed. The contrary attitude to everything, the failure to post a picture on here despite countless promises, the unreal levels of @#%&!ishness which could simply NOT exist in one human being...

This thread is like the final scene in Usual Suspects.

No. By definition passion isn't rational.

I think you're confusing passion with something else.

No, but to say the two cannot exist together is a ludicrous suggestion and would render a scale surplus-to-requirments, you cretin.

I shed a tear on saturday against Everton (when we had won) and to top that i have posted on this forum whilst at the game, not during the game but at half time.

I must be the ultimate of all @#%&!s.

So you cannot passionately support your side for over 20 years seeing all sorts of impossible victories and embarrassing defeats, but be rational enough to accept that you aren't going to win every football match?

Give over, silly.

My side are on for a domestic double, which would be the 3rd in 13 years. If you'd told me that 10 months ago I'd have questioned your mental-health. You won't find me bawling tonight, and that's not for the want of passion.

Fuzz stated that passion and perspective cannot co-exsist.

I stated that that was ridiculous. Then, for some reason, you poked your nose in and started rambling nonsense.

Are we all up to speed now?

Were you behind ABAF too, or is this your first venture into wumming?
