Tbf, even at our absolute pomp, with the best player in history in the team, we weren’t relentless for 90 minutes at a time for 65 games without injuries or any signs of tiredness, at a time that we had the best squad in the Country.
More like the richer clubs have picked up nefarious means of catching up what we were doing and going past us. Chelsea were suddenly relentless once Mou arrived IIRC. We’ve always looked physically inferior since around then against any top team. Even in 2008 Chelsea were bigger, stronger and fitter. Then Barca came along. Honestly think United are incredibly naive off the field in terms of medical, training and fitness and have been for ages. We’ve not been able to deal with any team that presses or runs about like idiots since the mid 2000’s.
