There were rumours about the sale of his (and certain players) '76 and '77 cup final tickets to Stan Flashman.

Meanwhile the rest us of us were attaching special token 21 with a bit of sellotape to the token sheet and praying the black marker pen didn't touch it.

A strange kind of glory is maybe a good insight into the Doc’s time managing United. I doubt the board gave much of a shit about any of his behaviour so long as the team was doing well and the fans were onside.

Correct. The board tried the '70s version of "looking really closely at your work laptop browser history"

Think it was more a case of the board not wanting their wives to view their browser history.

15 grand a year.

So it turns out that players have always been mardy, managers have always been narcissistic dodgy @#%&!s and board members have always been inept.
Maybe a stint in the Champs is just what we need right now.

Buchan gave him the cup final kitty which was a considerable sum on the day of the cup final to give it him back at the start of preseason training but unfortunately he was sacked and disappeared with the dough
