Cracking kip last night, a good solid 9.5hrs, with even a slight awareness of missus waking up earlier, so I could revel in going back to sleep. All this was combined with a very memorable dream which Iíll respect the OPís request to keep it clean.

One sleep that sticks in the memory is from years ago on a stag do in Amsterdam. I'd made a spliff to have in bed, but thought I'd just have a bit of a lie down first. I put the spliff in an ashtray on top of the covers. Next thing I knew I was waking up in the morning and the spliff and ashtray were both exactly where I left them. I hadn't moved an inch during the night.

No prizes for guessing what the first thing I did after waking up was.

A couple of times in past few years I have had mild insomnia (someone told me could be anxiety as is always work-related) - basically can't sleep for a full night. Or at best I fall asleep about 6am and have to be up by 8. The sleep I get into the next day though is worth it. Nothing better than a big sleep when you are truly exhausted.

Take Melatonin now and then, but recently been doing a few minutes of deep breathing instead. Seems to be doing the job.
