Playing a player that gives the ball away more than any other player I've ever seen in the midfield would be a bold move tbf.

Hope he turns up, performs well all season, helps us along and gets himself a move next summer.

IIRC he got games ahead of Martial, who’d done nothing but sulk like a @#%&!.

My memory might be playing tricks on me but I’m sure I recall a good goal against Spurs, playing adorably with a young pitch invader away at Huddersfield and setting up the winner in the derby. Give him a fair go if you ask me.

Martial was on good form when he came in. Was nailing down that left side. Think he had 4 goals in 5.

Sanchez got the winner v spurs in the cup two seasons ago.

Since he got here, he has been picked on reputation, not form.

That wont happen now.

Agreed. Easy scapegoat because he has an annatural relationship with canines.

Our forwards are a bunch of kids. Play him at 9 with Martial/ Rashford/Greeners on either side.

I think he's upset Smalling is a more likeable dog lover.

Not sure if anyone in the squad can tinkle the ivories better than him.

Hang on.

Isn't Eric Bailly from the Ivory Coast?

I hope Sanchez hasn't been inadvertently tinkling him in the showers ffs.

Can't think of a worse value for money signing.

And it's a crowded field.

He needs to earn a place back in the starting 11 by not playing like utter shite first

He will now be picked by default as we have no alternative when injuries/rotation kick in. Same with Shaw, same with our midfield.

He wont be first choice, is the point.

And my point is he won't have to be in any type of form to get games.

Which has nothing to do with my original point, which was that he was getting picked on reputation. He wont be picked on reputation now

He'll be used in emergencies and to freshen things up, which is fine.

It was the way Jose was shoe-horning him into the side regardless of his or anyone else's form that was the problem.

He's been written off, so anything he offers now would feel like a bonus.

The result will be exactly the same, before he got picked on reputation not on merit, now due to a dearth of options he will also get games irrespective of how well he is training/playing.

No, the result will be him playing because there are no better options.

Before, he was playing when there were better options.

Phew. Here was me thinking we were ill-equipped for any success over the course of the season.

Yeah, he played well then

Good against spurs in the cup semi too.

Not much else apart from that.
