Negatives from yesterday

Well, it beats a positives from yesterday thread when we get beat.


Shaw - looked absolutely shite. His positioning is still woeful, and he's normally at least half decent going forward but was crap at that as well. If he doesn't pull his finger out this season, I can see us going for a new left back in the summer. No idea why we didn't sign Tierney for competition tbh.

Pogba - 2 assists aside, he was terrible imo. Got caught in dangerous areas doing his stupid £#%&!ing look at me I'm so strong pirouettes. Still, Madrid will probably only check highlights reels this season so he'll still get his move.

Lingard - his usual ineffective self. Buzzed around like an annoying fly, but he's as annoying to us as he is to the opposition.

Players thinking that they can just pass the ball through opposition players, like the opposition players legs would suddenly cease to exist as the pass is played. Seemed to happen quite a few times and I really can't understand the thinking behind it. Stop just passing it against the opposition from half a yard away!

Pogba attempting Marseille turns, and other #@&%!ed bits of showboating in his own half. Times like that we need a leader in the team to tell him to knock it the £#%&! off.

Nitpicking against my personal MOTM, AWB's bad error of judgement when Emerson struck the post. Got dragged inside to the man Lindelof had covered all day long, and left Emerson completely open. Could have completely changed the game.

Am I allowed to say Rashford?

Took his goals well, but some of his other play was shoddy af. First half especially.

Three points in the mini big six league

Scored four and kept a clean sheet

Biggest neg - people continually moaning

Could have been 5.

Yesterday was so good. 4-0 opening day goon against Chelsea at OT

With Neves and Moutinho tho, there’s no way we get the ball back as regularly as we did yesterday after losing it. We didn’t look after the ball well enough for large parts of the game. Perreira was particularly wasteful in possession, would start Matic for that reason. Rest of the team unchanged.

Thought Lingard was one of our best players yesterday will be crucial against Wolves
