All that plus, he wanted Messi and Sanchez ffs.

That is a definite possibility, maybe Barca suspect it as he will not sign that deal. Even though they said he has, he hasn't and he wont..

I'd have more sympathy with them if both clubs hadn't been taking the piss out of FFP, EU Rules on state aid and given special tax exemption by Spanish law, the rest of the Spanish league is on it's arse while these two skate.

The one bit of the Bert's complaints about FFP I agree with is that it should apply to all clubs and not just ones not called Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Difference being that they are both 'big' clubs, whereas as the berts can't even give away tickets with free meals included.

A La Liga statement released on Monday confirms it wrote two letters to Uefa on 22 August - one to express concerns over the French club, and another relating to City.

The body claimed that "both PSG and Man City benefit from sponsorships that make no economic sense and lack any fair value".

The statement continued: "La Liga calls on Uefa to proceed with its investigation, taking into account the full history of PSG's actions. Additionally, La Liga calls on Uefa to open a similar investigation into Man City."

UEFA have £#%&!ed them off, apparently, not sure how that fits with City's 'Uefa hate us' narrative, but there you go.

Tbf, City 'only' spent £130m net this summer...

That difference means £#%&! all, the rules either apply or they don't, otherwise it is all just preserving the status quo bullshit rather than a serious attempt to tackle clubs overspending.

You didn't need to be Warren Buffett to see that FFP was a load of shit from day one tbh.

UEFA gave Barcelona a transfer ban just last year based on breaking rules on academy players.

FFP and UEFA can't stop clubs breaking the rules, only punish them when they do. It's yet to be established that City or PSG have.

The dig about the sponsors is the one. Can't do anything about the summer spend, but where their 'revenue' is coming from is the big thing..

exactly. Everyone can see what a joke it is. Being sponsored by an air line that's owned by your owners. It's like City and PSG are just thumbing their noses at the authorities.
