That depth allows Lindelof to bed in slowly, in a lesser squad he might have been chucked in alongside rubbish and had a very difficult start. Still looking at Tunazebe btw, he looks ready, already too good for reserve level. Mou may have identified Lindelof but if now he does not think he is good enough? Not the type of manager to play him simply out of loyalty to an idea.

But you answered your own question there. The form of Bailly and Jones makes it very conceivable that Mourinho is telling the truth about easing Lindelof in. He has that option and if it can be done it's the most sensible way. Doesn't mean he thinks he's not good enough long term.
