Suspect it's more that he's a young player and Ole doesn't want to ruffle too many senior pros feathers this early in the season
He's already dumped Jones and Smalling from the match day squad and Matic from the starting 11

He'll have to play him eventually if he continues with the 4231 system as Gomes is by far our best number 10
None of the others are anywhere near good enough for that role

Lingard is around 5ft 8
Gomes is about 5ft 5

What difference does those 3 inches make
Doesn't make him any stronger or better in the air
Gomes is actually a lot stronger on the ball and can hold off challenges better than Lingard or Mata

bingo. would give pereira a good run first though, 10 is by far his best position and he's a decent free kick/corner taker which we're lacking big time.

the thing that we're overlooking with this height issue, is that lingard is producing absolutely nothing. I'm not saying gomez is the answer, but for the love of god we need to try something new.

Oh I agree.

I can understand Solskjaer’s concerns though. More worrying for me is the fact he’s stalling over another contract. That’s the 2nd time he’s done it now, and he’s only about 14 years old. Not a good sign imo.
