Default Phil Jones - still shit.

The clumsy oaf proving yet again tonight that he'll never be a top defender after costing us at the weekend against Bournemouth with one of his trademark brainless tackles. Tonight he just went for plain brainless minus the tackles with another clumsy error-laden performance.

The goal that Rostov scored could have been prevented with even the most basic idea of defending. But it yet again proved too much for the brains trust of Smalling and Jones.

I think we should build a team around him, then catch him and throw him out of the team

Was playing well until the injury. Did £#%&! all wrong on Saturday. Got caught between chasing the striker and playing offside tonight.

Where's Bailly?

In fairness Bailly for Gabbiadini's first goal at Wembley was as bad a piece of defending as I've seen Jones produce.

Need a straight up top boy in that position next season. No promise, no inconsistency, just a first class, plays every game defender.

Jones playing "well" is like an epileptic managing to make it through the day without having a fit.

An absolute %@#$&! of a player. And we should be referring to him hence forth as Guber.

Guber Jones.

I want you to be happy, pal.

But yeah he's a very good defender. Certainly wouldn't say no.

I'd be happy* until he £#%&!ed up. then everyone would say "did you see that idiot sokratis that jem likes? hur hur."

still, there'd be less chance of that happening.

* I would not be happy, obvs.

He's the kind of player who improves when he gets a run of fitness going...... but starts all over again as soon he's out again. And considering how often hes injured, he's forever starting again.

He in completely unreliable in every sense. He's been here six years. It's not going to suddenly get better. José making do for now, but I suspect he'll be one of many gone in the summer.
