Went for Raffers for his immense headers if nothing else.

Could easily have been Rooney/Valencia or Scholes though.

Scholes for me. A couple of uncharacteristically sloppy passes but he ran the show from start to finish even though we were outnumbered in central midfield. Amazing when you compare his influence on the game to players like Gerrard and Henderson who couldn't get a sniff.

I thought Valencia was class again too, and he ruined Enrique who is supposedly one of the top left-backs in the league. He couldn't handle Valencia and was out-muscled, outpaced and out-thought several times.

Rafael had a great game as well. Glad we've got a nutter like him in the side and I hope he nails down that right-back spot permanently now by staying fit.

It's out of those three for me, but I'll go for Scholesy.

scholes was/is a class apart.

valencia was superb as well. is it just me or is he coming inside a lot more this season than he used to? still never uses his left for anything other than standing on but he cuts inside quite a lot these days, at least more than he used to, and it makes him much less predictable.

Scholes bossed it. He did in the cup game for a hour as well. Vermin midfielders got a masterclass off him today. He is and always has been a genius.

Thumbs up

scholesy, i was dubious about his decision to come out of retirement but what the £#%&! do i know, i think that aart from a bit of rustiness (arf) in his first game back he has been class, a united great.

Tough one to call, between Scholsey, Toni and Rafael, hard to choose tbh, thought giggsy's passing was £#%&!in awful at times, but he's allowed to do that, he's giggsy after all...

The job Carrick did defensively an keeping the ball moving is being well overlooked imo, and he went through the back of Suarez.

He's been immense this season. Really provided some solid stability at times in a midfield that has had virtually no continuity because of injuries.

I made the suggestion to a few Ingurland fans a few days ago that his reading of the game, positional sense, defensive discipline and passing range would be a very good option in a three man midfield at Euro 2012. I was laughed at; they want Parker, Barry, Gerrard etc.
