Manchester United supporters got rough treatment by French police before the match against Marseille.
French police took all the fans into a large hall before the game, and much of the visiting fans did not enter the stadium before an hour had already been played.

All were placed in a huge hall before being allowed into the stadium, like a bunch of cows. Looked like it was going to flare up a little sooner, but has gone well - after what I have seen, wrote United.no editor Jon Martin Henriksen in an SMS to the paper.
After the match, the editor writes that a friend of his was attacked with tear gas by police.

Beaten with batons
According to TV2 employee Jan Henrik Hansen, who was also in Marseille, pandemonium broke out between police and supporters before the match.

"When we got to the stadium and would redeem the tickets, but before we came so far, we were escorted by police into a large hall right by the stadium. There were lots of police there, and about 1,000 supporters.
We did not understand what we were there, and people began to ask the police what happened, but none of the French policemen speak English. Instead, the police began to turn around to those who asked questions, and people started to run" Hansen told TV 2 Sport.

A man I was then pushed to the wall and deljet attacked with batons, just because he objected because innocent people were beaten up.
He has not experienced anything like it before.
"It was the worst I've ever seen. It was crazy. The police simply went crazy" he said.

Spoke with Wiganste last night and he said it was the worst euro away he had been to in terms of our support ...... Its all part of the clubs plan and sadly it will work, pick up tickets with ID has already stopped reds going, they leave the ballot till too late for others like myself who are just on a membership so by the time you get a ticket your travel expense is so high meaning ... yep, should have just gone through MU Travel from the start in a season or two, european travel will be exclusive to tickets and travel through the club only, after all who gives a £#%&! about the fans who cant afford it when Rupert can take 3 of his chums with him ? ( in jester hats ) :shakehead:

Happened to chelsea this season and in the past, the only good thing to come out of it is maybe putting a few thomas cook clowns off going again

The GMP were at the ticket collection, Confiscating passports and ID if it didnt match the name on the tickets....

the only way will be MU travel, where for the right price (Uniteds price) any tom dick or tarquin is sitting in his airline seat clutching his match ticket and the coach is waiting at the airport.

Euro aways, slowly dying.......

Most of the lads I used to go with £#%&!ed it off as they couldn’t be arsed with all the bullshit now involved. Why spend all that money getting there, only to be treated like a @#%&! by your own club? It’s ridiculous. Half our end in Valencia was empty because of this shit, with plenty of the travelling support ending up in the home end.

If this whole ID business was put in place to ensure that only those travelling get credit, I’d be in favour. But it’s a bit of an insult when anyone buying a ‘package’ from the club gets a match ticket, regardless of whether they’ve ever been to an away in their life, never mind this season.

I £#%&!ing hate the club.

.
Thats the bit that gets me........

A red who has been to euro's before, follows united all around the country, misses out on a ticket because someone went direct from MCR on a 'in and out behave yourself, 3 hours in the city' tour...

It doesnt make sense, but then when you look at the cash involved.....

It makes perfect sense.

they dont want you to do an easy jet/Train/Taxi for £100......

They want the MCR - Madrid/Milan etc in and out, no trouble £380 quid

They control you, they control your spending and time spent away...

Its £#%&!ing bullshit and it started getting worse a few years ago. Its close to tipping point today...

Also the stories of GMP, Red on Red, Police and Club policy is pushing the few remaing away.

They've achieved their aim.

The process of collecting your match ticket is enough to stop anyone bothering.

2 hour queue and than an interrogation conducted by by idiots....blind and stupid idiots.

They weren't gonna give me my ticket in Glasgow because I 'didn't look enough like my passport photo'.

wtf were GMP up too? Great use of police resources The ‘Red vs Red’ business seems to get worse by the game.

And you’re right about the mollycoddled nature of club trips. It’s a £#%&!ing insult and little better then a school holiday. And the parrot headed mugs have the nerve to sing “we’ll do what we want...” once in the ground; yea, only after the club told you where to go, where to stay, how to get to the ground and when to leave.

They’ve taken all the joy out of following United. I told a Spurs ST holder how we’re treated on Euro Aways, he thought I was on a wind up.

You think ticket prices are bad and the club are @#%&!s, if you think about it they are making Double, triple on most games, in europe or at home..

If its not MU travel, its 'Independant airways' based on SMB who give a cut to united, they have employed touts and security in the past.

If its at home its via-£#%&!ing-gogo that again united take a cut from.

And If you dont bother and give up completly...they're taking your money from the TV revenue.

that desk your at....Its not a £#%&!ing desk its a barrel and that #@&%! in your arse its not the boss/Wife its uniteds....big veiny shaft £#%&!ing you up.
