Do you just give academy debuts to players for the sake of it? Rendering the idea of a first team debut meaningless almost. He gave debuts to loads in 2017 for a reason, they deserved it/it fit with the teams needs/he felt the players were ready etc.

If this is even true.
Academy review covers....the academy

It's about tradition pal. The same way you brought up 20 debuts at Madrid (if that even is true ). How many made it as regulars is another conversation.

Don’t pick Mata, Lukaku and Sanchez?

I felt the midfield did not work.

It is the most important part of a team. I like all the individual parts, the big Mac, Fredji, Andy P. But as a unit they just haven't worked. Has had a negative effect on those players you named imo....

Jeez you already got the knives out for Ole.

You seem to have hated every single person in charge of United ever.

Could be vice-versa tbh. Tbf, Pereira and The Scottish Player have barely played all season, Mou gave up on Pereira after Brighton and hung The Scottish Player out to dry at WestHam and both have barely been seen since. Similar with Fred, so to be expected as Ole tries to get minutes and confidence into them I suppose.

Yep.

Mctommers has done well, but isn’t really a defensive midfielder. Like you say it was a very unbalanced midfield.

And yet it happens under literally every manager.

Not been vintage, but reminiscent of many of these kinds of ties down the years that we can't remember.

We won't remember this one either.

Win. Get through. Minutes for players who need it. Focus on spuds.

It absolutely could be.

Need to use the next round to start this midfield but with Rashy, Martiers and JLingz upfront.

not necessary to watch the game to know this.

fred and mata are £#%&!ing lightweights - can't afford both (or either, tbh). alexis does £#%&! all except showboat a bit. pereira is a number 10 playing sweeper. mct is thin gravy. there's no character there, no chasing after the ball, no strength, no vision....

a couple of good passes from fred and a solid performance from pereira. you could have guessed that. utterly £#%&!ing predictable.

reading were better than expected and made us look shite.
