Rheinbacher from Aldi is better than pretty much any other lager you can get. They do a lot of the craft ale stuff as well, hit and miss for me although the Pineapple milkshake IPA they do is ‘interesting’.

do like to try the random local beers but you don't switch out the main larger you have. That's your all day drinker, you will know how many you have down you and its all good.

IPA's just filll me up and smell f***ing rank. Avoid.

My brother's Mrs buys him Brew Dog's "Nanny state" lager.

The poor bastard, it's f***ing rank. Bet it costs a fortune too.

It does taste rank you're absolutely right. Never tasted an alcohol free beer that tastes particularly good, mind.

His missus has told him that it's alcohol free, right?

Tried it once and it was vile. Absolute garbage. Won't be bothering giving it a second go.

Yeah he’s well aware of that fact. She reckons he drinks too much

Not a fan of it at all, don't like American style IPA either it tasees to hoppy and gives me a stinking head ache. Plus it isn't cask conditioned #CAMRA****er

I don't mind older style stuff though like Caledonian IPA.

Never seen the point of drinking beer unless it is to get pissed.

Have the odd one in order to keep the better half under the false impression that I'm not a raving alcoholic, or on the rare occasion that I'm driving somewhere.

If you absolutely must, a couple of the alcohol free German weissbiers are probably your best bet.

On topic, used to love Brewdog when they first came out and you could get them on cask as well. Mostly shite now, though.

Get dragged in there (Peter St) all the time by people who think they're still cool.. Tidy fraulines inhibit it but other than that must agree with the above statement.

6 quid for not even a pint

Elvis juice is decent actually. Just stick to that.

The carry out bar is the easiest blag in town. Zero shame

I don't mind a bit of the punk IPA, and elvis juice is decent, but honestly there are much better examples of both out there.

Goose Island for example

Maybe the first IPA I had or it was Sierra Nevada. Sierra Nevada is lovely stuff but blows my head off. Not a big fan of Brewdog.

I like craft ales but can get a bit fed up with them and always go back to lager, or I usually make sure I've got a couple of lagers in when I am having ales.

As mentioned the German beer in Aldi is bang on as is their snide Peroni, Estrella etc.
