I'm talking about mass going believers, do you still go? My mother was a daily communicate and there was a big group of them, none here now. People from catholic backgrounds, who don't follow the religion, like me, are not Catholics.

And that is another place we have to stop describing people as Catholics and Protestants when most people are neither.

I'm not getting involved in your communist struggle session. I'll take census information over what you can see through your curtains.

I wasn't trying to argue the point armers, just saying what I know, I don't know anyone who goes to mass regularly anymore which is a 100% different from when I was growing up. £#%&! all to do with my communism.

16% from the last meaningful census in the UK...

I'd say that was more in Ireland ??

Most Catholics don't go to church. Obviously much more protestants don't as that's not a real religion. King Charles is the head of the coe.

I can only say what I see and the people I know, but barely anyone goes to mass anymore or has anything to do with the church, except for funerals and weddings etc

Maybe they’ll let Andrew take over at the Vatican when the pope pegs it. He’s got the CV.

Your lot started the whole Catholic vs Protestant thing here, don't be trying to wash your hands of it.

We were made go to Sunday evening mass when we were kids. Was awful. 7:30 kick off, finished about 8:15, home for 8:30 and do our homework whilst £#%&!ing Glenroe was on the telly.

Awful times. Signalled the end of the weekend and the beginning in a new week of school.

My parents weren't remotely religious but it was the done thing back then, going to Mass.

Certainly for the big events, if not daily observace it's still a big signifier of identity.

Current church going average age must be 55 minimum?

When they've gone they gonna be struggling for bums on seats...

Protestant and Catholic remerge in c50 years, twici. Huge economies of scale and some great apartments out of surplus churches

The number of Christians in Northern Ireland, who do not identify as either Catholic or traditional Protestant (COI, Presbyterian or Methodist) is growing. A 25/% increase in the past ten years.
