I don't know how much Spurs are paying for him but if United paid the £10m the newspapers said he would cost then I'd be sickened.

£18m for Carrick or £17m for Hargreaves is one thing, those players are needed and are potentially vital to United's future.

£10m for an 18year old herman munster left back is a joke.

£10m for about 16-17 years of service aint that bad though if you look at it that way

What the £#%&! are you on about? Simpson played almost all season at right back for the team that won that league and was highly rated by his manager. Bale got very mixed reviews particularly defensively but scored a few free-kicks, hardly shit hot.

According to a mate of mine who has the pleasure of being a Saints season ticket holder Bale certainly hasn't been shit hot this season. Drifts in and out of games, quite composed on the ball but is very one paced for a defender. Caught out of position fair bit.

Credit where credit's due he's got a good left foot.

Tbh I don't think he's anywhere near ready for Utd and I very much doubt he'd come and park his arse on the bench.

Oh and against Saints this season, Simpson had Bale in his pocket and never gave the lad a kick.

Jesus, I dunno man, what I saw of Bale he looked very very raw.

It would be different if Spurs were getting him for £2-3m, then we should be in there.

Kieran Lee plays left-back like and I think he's a real talent.

Why because he plays for our reserves?

Uncanny.

So far he's been Herman Munster, A cyberman and Donkey Kong. I would have loved to have gone to school with him, provided he could take a joke or couldn't beat me in a fist fight.
