Bit of a toughie this with all the injuries and players being rushed back from injury. Anyway I'm tentatively going with :-

I think Ole would be fine out wide, I'd have gone for Saha but I just don't think he's fit to start.

i simply wanted to see what people thought about the team, last night! if i had not consulted the expertise of my fellow fred tissuers i might not have been able to sleep as i could not decide what saf is going to do.

feel free to delete my thread, or better still, you should have changed mine to the fishal one and added your team accordingly.

talking about the team before the official thread surely isn't that bad - however i can see you are very upset so i apologise!

Well we don't have a lot of other options. You've chosen a half fit porcelain striker to start for example, which is a hell of a risk, a risk that'll also end up with Rooney playing wide.

it wouldnt surprise me if fergal threw cathcart in

I think they will play Rooney upfront as a lone striker.

Yeah, attempt to scuff a 1-0 away win or a draw, but actually lose 2-0.

The formation is hard to guess for this game. It should be 4-5-1 with Giggs through and Rooney and Ronaldo buzzing around him. But the absence of Park puts a cartoon-sized spanner in the works. There's not a chance in hell that Ole will start. By a process of elimination down to the bare bones then, I predict Smith will start. If so, then Rooney could play a lot closer to him than he would need to play to, say, Saha. This could even see us with Rooney ahead of Smith a fair bit of the time, depending on how the game is going and what we are doing to combat Roma's curious tactical web.
