We can’t be picky about fees. We are absolutely desperate to get this lot off the books. Buyers know it. If we could give them away, we should still do it. It’s the price we pay for dishing out stupid contracts.

£7m for him, £10m for AWB, £10m for Pererra, £15m for Garner. Between £40m and £50m for players we don’t want and desperately need off the wage bill and to free up space for signings. £10m for AWb is a terrible return, but it allows us to get a new right back.

Iirc the clause was the move will be made permanent if they qualify for the Champions League. Just hope there were no appearance milestones as he’s been injured most of the time.
