Still, that will do.
Not sure I’m happy with the two cbs but they both did ok today and will carry on improving. Even an average pairing playing regularly together will be a lot better than what we’ve had recently.

Young daydreaming for their goal but ... progress

Missed Martial and a little frustrating that we struggled to get the ball to Gomez late on but it feels more like a Utd moving in the correct direction already.

Matic much better today, Jones had an excellent game, Pogba the stand out.
This is crucial.

He trusts the attacking players to do irreparable damage.

Jose tries to make everything about the fine margins, regardless of the opposition.

As you say, he knows this. We'll take risks, we'll concede, but he'll give the players the platform to score goals.

Do that and we'll win the majority of games.

Avram made up with that. Another win. No need for new soccer players.

Hate to use them as an example but look at Liverpool. Their entire game plan has been based on just overwhelming opponents with energy, attacking persistence and forcing the game. Very much like some of Fergies team, not always going to be able to play amazing football but if the intent and urgency is always there you can go a long way.

This Liverpool have a good balance of workhorses backing up the real talent, Mou's whole approach seemed to be "give me world class talent in every position plus a loaded bench and I might play then"

Yep. I only didn't reference them because I always do and it makes me nauseous.

Louis too. Literally said it wasn't working because we had no decent players up front.

Not good enough.

He killed himself from the start by getting rid of all our energetic forwards and hoping that 3 declining names could carry the attacking play. Rooney, Falcao and Van Persie, 2010 that is an amazing trio, 2015, not so much.

Gutted the squad, perhaps it was needed to kick start a rebuild but there were definitely times he could have used Hernandez/Welbeck/Nani/etc as options rather than turning to Nick Powell and co.

Tbf he tried to sign players like Mane but was told no by Woodward apparently.

Think Dunk said earlier in the thread “football is easy” and I think that’s where Louie fell short. He overcomplicated things at times (while obviously leaving himself short in numbers)

The way we’ve played in the last two games is more enjoyable than anything we’ve played in 7 years imo.
