Liverpool reportedly bid £10m for the player but City offered him a lucrative contract to stay, signing him up for five years.
On £40,000 a week.

Asked whether he had a message to Blues fans, who are disappointed that he did not fulfil his potential, Urmston-born Johnson, a product of the City academy, said: “I am more disappointed than anyone but that’s the way it goes.”

He initially declined to say any more but rang us back, revealing: “I have been attending the Priory Clinic for a number of years now with regard to my mental health and would be grateful if I could now be left alone to live the rest of my life.”

Right you are pal. When the letters stop the door opening we'll collect the cadaver.

if my calculations are correct (and they seldom are) he's "earnt" 10.2 million pounds from sitting on his capacious arse for the past five years.

if there was any justice reem would be super rich by now.

If it's any consolation, I imagine he has frittered the majority of it away gambling

It's £#%&!ing madness I won't even stick a fiver on a United home win against £#%&!ing Villa, I'd much rather spend it on something more definite
