Question Was this the moment everything started to go wrong?

Should never have let him go. 44 goals in 49 for LA Galaxy.

“No you can’t buy Harry Maguire for 60m”

Just to rub salt in the wound

One year later...

For 80m..

That's the moment there. Last summer transfer window was the moment when the owners showed they have no real interest in winning the league or investing the money required to do so.

History will judge Mou kindly I think.

As said, he was refused Maguire at a lower price than what we paid for him AND he got us to 2nd place.

Think about that.

It's amazing really.

His final season - he switched off and I can understand that.

So, fundamentally the Rock of Gibraltar set off a chain of events that led us to the Glazers which led us to Moyes and so on - but the straw that broke the camel's back was this.

As anyone who has ever done an HSE course on the Titanic can tell you, disasters are always a consequence of many, many smaller errors.

First error being the location of the course, I would imagine.

The club started on this road in 2005 when those £#%&!ing parasites took over.

Everything since has just been inevitable.

It was a nightmare reading the powerpoint presentation 5,000 metres under the sea I'll give you that but the seafood platter at lunch was delightful.

This.

We did remarkably well under Fergie circa 2006-2013 because he's a managerial freak and the rot hadn't sst in.

Since then, it's been panicky dick-swinging followed by mediocrity acceptance.

They are happy as long as we're commercially successful. They'll remain reactive in their actions when they sense that becoming an issue.

Footballing ambitions are a mere footnote.

Nothing will change as long as they are here.

As fans, best we can hope for is the little moments and maybe a manager who will do things 'the right way'.

Glazers 2005

Fergie telling Moyes not to sign his Everton contract 9. Months before he retired.

I think if Jose had taken over straight after Fergie things would be different.

I agree, he desperately wanted the job too.

Appointing who we did instead - THAT was the real "when it all went wrong" moment, May 2005 being the only serious competitor.
