If these French protests would have had happened in Russia ,Tehran or Caracas how much different would our media reported them

No doubt some p**** will be along shortly to defend this blatant f***piss and accuse me of being a Putin stooge for pointing out this reality

Quote:
The undead centre meets the shitstorm
Europe's saviour: a ruthless upper middle-class right-winger from the French finance ministry. He could walk on water. Thanks to the political field being successfully narrowed to a choice between the hard-centre and fascism, the hard-centre won with a big majority. He was going to lead a revolution, invigorating French capitalism with bracing Thatcherite reform.
These reforms weren't ever popular. But then the medicine is always resisted by the patient (add your own Economist-style neoliberal cliche). Workers would lose and investors would gain, but this would trigger a new phase of intense productivity and high growth from which all would benefit. Ukanian liberals adored Macron and envied France. Macron was everyone's centrist boyfriend, handsome and pro-European: a conviction not shaken despite some embarrassed feet-shuffling and polite coughing over his racism. That was barely a year and a half ago.

This is nothing new, happened under Chirac, happened under Mitterrand.

Macron is doing what he said he would do in his election campaign, try to reduce CO emissions, but his execution is completely wrong as he's trying to do it by raising taxes on fuel. Most people affected by these fuel tax rises are the lower paid, which is bad enough, but then he exacerbates the problem with his tax changes which benefit the wealthy... is it any wonder that there are riots ?

Iirc it's one of the contributing factors to an unprepared defence against the Nazi invasion too. They just keep changing/protesting and can't implement a solid foundation.

It's amusing watching people pontificate when they have no idea about history or context.

Literally had to redesign the capital to defend against such rowdy provocateurs.

Just seen a tweet of some young girl who's lost an eye. Claret everywhere.

On the upside: massive street cred.
