The Glazer Reign Is Crumbling

Call me deluded, but there is a different atmosphere about the club currently that I haven't experienced during the Glazer era. It feels like they have nowhere else to turn if the Ten Hag experiment fails. It feels like absolute last-chance saloon.

They've milked this club for as much as they can, using every conceivable solution since Fergie retired, and the ideas have now run out IMO. Giggs, LvG, Mourinho, Solskjaer, bullshit supporter forums with that grinning #@&%! Joel, binning Woodward, hiring Murtough, re-introducing Fergie and Gill, and now hiring one of the world's top coaches. There's no other option left.

Combine this with the inevitable fan protests that will erupt regularly over the winter, which will dwarf the abandonment of the Liverpool game last season, and I think a change is gonna come.

There is not a chance that the supporters will turn on Ten Hag before they turn on the ownership, and Richard Arnold and the Glazers are fully in the firing line now. With Ronaldo gone, and replaced by the typical bargain-basement deadline day signings, and a squad that still needs a drastic overhaul, I can see things getting very, very ugly by January 2023.

Could all be a blessing in disguise if it means these Yank vultures are finally £#%&!ed off for good.

Worry is that the signing of De Jong will make people giddy and lose sight of the problem the owners are causing. Similar to last summer.

And when everything is dust and there is nothing left… the Glazers will still be able to use United as a cash cow based on faded glories. Fans have every right to boo but nothing will change.

That's why they want the super league. To make football more like NFL. Where winning things is 'nice' if you can do it but having a 'losing' season is no biggie on the finances

They play in a 2bn state of the art stadium for starters

That all makes sense, but the problem is that I really don’t think they give a solitary shit how we do or how they’re perceived. It’s always been hostile, they’ve always been hated and they’ve always made money. Increasing protests and failure on the pitch hasn’t changed that. They’re not here to win. We’re not even a rich owners vanity project. We’re a simple means for them to make money.

Can't really compare American 'franchises' () with English football clubs IMO. How much public uproar has there been in Dallas about the Cowboys ownership?

Regular protests, and weekly calls in the mainstream media, which have started on the first day of the season, will eventually create an environment around the club so toxic that the ownership becomes untenable.

They've won leagues and European cups as owners, they really don't give a £#%&! ....

Difference is that Jerry Jones loves being the owner of the Dallas Cowboys and loves running all aspects of the organisation

The Glazer family are just business men who couldn’t give two £#%&!s about the sport of football
I can’t understand why they don’t just look to sell the club for 3 or 4 billion and be set for life and not have to deal with the daily headache of all the issues and decisions to do with their soccerball franchise

Because they see the club as an heirloom passed to them via inheritance from Daddy Avram, and which they can then pass on to their own spawn. Abramovich had the same plan with Chelsea, which he'd arranged to go to his son before Putin's war in Ukraine changed everything.

The Glazers will not give up the club willingly as they view it as their commercial property, which legally it is. They will need to be forced out, and the club will need to become so toxic that the sponsors start walking away, just like Team Viewer are doing.

Could probs do with walking away before the world economy falls through the floor later this year

Personally I don’t think it needs to be that bad 5 or 6 seasons outside of top 4 the sponsors will not be paying top dollar.

Tbh I can’t see them getting top 4 unless they get a couple of good players in before the window. I think second seaosn out of top 4 and the sponsorship money drops by half

Yes.

We haven't challenged for the League since 2013, and the European Cup since 2011.

What is the difference between finishing 6th and 18th, really? We're Manchester United, not West Ham United.

They get £10m a year in their own pockets too... The value of the club has gone from £550m in 2004 to who knows? What did Chelsea go for? 3 billion dollars. What does that make United worth?
