TBH I think we're mental if we hang in the Europa this season.

Pros
Its a trophy
You can qualify for the CL by winning it (we'll qualify via league this year anyway)

Cons
Cup comp, and a long one - can waste a lot of time and effort to not win it
Potentially long travel
Moves league games to Sunday when playing in it
Squad Fatigue
Its not a well respected trophy

It might spur spending

We ve got 2 untried kids to add to the squad on the right wing - how many more Dan James’s do we need?

None of that is sensationalist IMHO. Ole gets it wrong in some of the big games.

As the night follows the day , the second he loses the vultures circle. I don't think he got anything wrong last night. Simply outplayed by a better team who have notched their game up a gear.

Games like these really highlight the problem areas in the squad. Ole is working miracles nqat.

A fair assessment.

We were beaten by the better team

Can’t really blame Ole for that.

this. no excuse for the defending, though.

seems incredible that we could be three points clear before we play liverpool. if we can actually beat some of those teams in the second round of games, presumably we will walk it.

we'll probably lose to burnley.

Ole doesn't seem to be able to bank any goodwill.

There's a grudging acknowledgement of any run of form but one bad defeat and he's back on skid row.

I'm talking about the media not on here.

he's not as clever as pep, klopp or bielsa, so they don't get to show how clever they are by appreciating that. because they are all jolly clever.

In Paris x 2 etc. etc.

Loads of big game wins against coaching £#%&!ers, but sadly no semi finals yet.

Yeah that City game in March last season, huge game, massive, those 3 points in March, god they were huge. Cant believe how big that game was .

Take out the fact these are derby matches and its 3 points.

Quarter finals are hardly big games.

Waiting....

What you actually mean is that you're having a whinge and you're setting the parameters of what you class as a big game and judging it based on that so that you can justify your whinge. Cool. On that basis we've only played 4 big games in 4 years.

Probably about right yeah. Big games for the fans are slightly different to actual big games for the clubs. As managers have said its only 3 points blah blah blah. Nothing will be won or lost next week vs Liverpool. Big game for the fans, yes absolutely huge. For the club, in reality no. Could it put us 6 clear of them, yeah with what 60 points still to play for...

And actually if you go pre Ole we didn't do that great at times, although got a few trophy's along the way.

What was the ridiculous Champions League stat, 2 knockout game wins in 9 years or something?
