More experienced than Sam Johnstone and probably a better gk. Hopefully he'll get some first team football at WBA.

Why? It's not loan, is it?

Had a good game at Anfield in 12/13 but always thought he was very ordinary. Reading 4-3 and WBA 5-5 were shockers.

Because he's a footballer and he moved over here to play football?

Will have to settle for watching united on his iPad from the bench in The Hawthornes. Big blow for a top red that.

I don't suppose we'll miss him too much considering he never plays.

Looks like it's going to be Romero and Valdes then - the modern day Howard and Carroll? Even if De Gea stays his head is going to be elsewhere.

We haven't really handled this goalkeeper situation very well...

It's almost as if LvG wanted to remove any past remnants of Fergie.

Makes you think...

If De Gea leaves it'll be Navas or Cillessen.

Both are pretty ordinary from what I can tell, but surely better than Romero.

So we've gone from one of the best young keepers in world football to a guy who ended up 3rd or 4th choice at Real or the guy who van Gaal took off for Tim Krul in that penalty shoot out. That sounds like a great job all round.

If there's one thing the Club should have learnt during the years between Schmeichel and VDS, it's that having dozens of mediocre keepers does not work anything like as good as have one great keeper.

Once it became clear DDG didn't want to stay we should have identified the next best thing and bought him immediately. Those two mentioned are probably better than what we have, but it shouldn't have come to this.
