But surely there would be consequences from that? If one club can do as it likes but none of the others can, what’s the £#%&!ing point in taking part?

I think City will be fully exonerated and the uproar will be biblical scale.

You'd really like to hope so. But what can the other clubs do though at the end of the day? They're entire financial infrastructure is built around the money they make playing in the Premier League, to pay players that want to play in the Premier League. They could threaten to break away and form a Not-So-Super League, but that would never happen.

For there to be any real sporting justice from these City charges we'd need the UK Government, an oil nation and a £15 billion organisation to willingly damage their own reputations in the name of sporting integrity. It should happen, but I can't see how it will beyond some back channel agreement that suits all parties involved.

Provided Everton’s deduction sticks. You can’t punish one and not the other. Ideally as long as Everton’s deduction is not overturned , they would look like mugs if they let city off.

Plus if it’s one thing the scousers do well, it’s whine and moan. That won’t go away quietly if city are let off

It feels dirty, but it's kinda nice to have the scouse @#%&!s on our side for this one. That in itself is an indication of how important it is that city get the book thrown at them.

I agree, it would be ridiculous. But we live in a ridiculous world.

Everton really should get their solicitors to tell the PL to deal with cITY now of they are gonna sue the arse off of them because by leaving it over a year it gives cITY the oppotunity to hade vital evidence & lie even more than normal!

If Evertons punishment is suddenly dropped to a fine, we can all really worry that £#%&! all will happen to City.

Expel them from the Premier League, strip them of all titles since 2010, encourage FA Cup, EFL and CL to do the same.

The idea that they’re going to be punished in any meaningful sense is pretty comical tbf

Nobody would ever take the PL seriously on anything ever again.

Maybe that is the best hope of them actually confounding the cynics and doing something meaningful.
