Varela, Powell and Bortwhick all on the pitch when chasing cl qualification pretty much confirms how badly lvg and woody £#%&!ed the market.

Might as well have kept evans btw and it makes my skin crawl saying that.

Faith in the youth. Rather give kids a chance than indulge wasters like Evans.

Love it

Thin? If it were any thinner it would be Cheryl Cole.

Its only thin when you have 8 players or more on the sidelines .. Get more out of seeing those young players lastnite then having the main sq clustered up with high earning non achievers only here fopr the ride .. Those 2 fullbacks lastnite were immense really top games by both

we literally have no proper attacking options from the bench.

if the first 11 don't work....you can even say we have impact subs who will make the difference. with the money spent i don't think its good enough to be honest.

hernandes, nani and as much as i hate him adman should have been kept on.
Incredible sage by big marls.

United being shite has always brought out the best in Fred. Everything Marlo says is unarguable in my book but then I totes dig Bunk's positive vibe too. Now I don't know what to think. Need The Watcher back so I can pass off his opinion as my own IRL.

It's either bad luck, or there's a reason.

There's a reason. The players are overtrained. Almost every team in the world does it, in fairness. It's a dinosaur mindset, and will take a long time to change.

It is madness that players go through 6 weeks of preseason, training multiple times per day, and then begin a season in which they either train or play a game 6 days a week for more than nine months. But, that's how it's always been done...so every team just accepts a long injury list as 'bad luck', season after season.

Luck doesn't actually work that way.

It's a pretty simple fix, according to big Raymond Verhejjers: more complete days off, more 'competitive' training sessions replaced with technical/tactical (i.e. no tackling) sessions, and close monitoring of indicators of player fatigue, like stress hormone levels, flexibility and range of motion impairment, cognizance tests, etc, and then adjusting training intensity based on those indicators.

But most managers just keep training players the way they themselves were trained as players, which was in the Dark Ages of sport science.
