Newcastle are in terrible form right now but we all know what will happen if we go up there with a midfield duo that has Scholes or Giggs involved. :shakehead:

Good to see the Bitter still look shit this season, wonder how many goals their mediocre defence would leak if they didn't pack the midfield with 3 holders every bloody week.

it's the milk cup ffs, it'll be the kids.

should see powell and cleverley start in midfield, buttner and brady on the left. fingers crossed we might see henriquez, maybe tunnifcliffe will get a game.

looking forward to it tbh. the kids are more entertaining than the first 11 atm. need to get cleverley and powell into the first team.

he is talking about our premier league match on 7th october at newcastle. Not looking forward to that match if scholes, giggs are in the starting line up

we've got three games before that, including a tough one against spurs.

scholes has been our best player this season ffs. again. wrap the £#%&!er in cotton wool and play him in the biggest games.

he is the best passer we have not the best player. He struggles against teams who press aggressively as we saw midweek. Will be a difficult match for him against newcastle.

We are also away at Cluj just before the newcastle match! that's us £#%&!ed

scholes is the one player who doesn't struggle against aggressive pressing. he can't get up and down the pitch the same way these days but his first touch, sense of space and ability to shift the ball quickly mean he's the only midfielder we have who copes with that kind of pressing. if we had three scholeses in midfield, even the 2012 scholes, nobody would get anywhere pressing us.

Disagree strongly, yeah he's looked good against a 10 man Liverpool coming on at HT and against a Soton that just sat back like @#%&! trying to defend a 2-1 lead.

The sad reality check came in the game he started against Everton and City away on the backend of last season. Scholesy needs to remain an impact player off the bench at this age. Only way for him to be of use to us.

Do not want Scholes or Giggs anywhere near the team for Newcastle away(league game in 2 weeks), not the piss cup thing tomorrow.

And if we had been able to play Carrick in his preferred position then, Scholes would never have started anyway.
