Few more details coming out.

As I said, no dividends. And to the people who said “doesn’t it make business sense for him to tank the share price and then buy the rest”, they’ve put in a little clause to deal with that.

He's literally kept the Glazer's in the club whilst allowing them to wash their hands of any on field disasters.

No offence to the people who thought that was an option but they have to be among the stupidest people who ever posted on here. Imagine some bloke spending a billion quid on an asset so that he could lower it's value in order to save some money when the time comes to buy the asset at which point he'd have to spend more than what he saved through deliberately depressing the share price in order to make the asset a worthwhile investment. Of course this is illegal but somehow he'd get away with it as it's not like anyone pays attention to the most popular club in the most popular league on the planet

From a layperson perspective, it appears the Glazers are simply trading a lot of control to be able to keep earning from the club.

A lot more than 25% would suggest.

The 25% seems less important than these further details.

INEOS aren’t just doing this to take 25% of whatever happens, they (well, Jim) clearly wants the football project/vanity project of it and is prepared to pay over the odds to be allowed to do it.

Jim and INEOS dwarf anything United make, so it’s not a financial venture for them.

He gets control of the football side of it, the glazers get a ridiculous inflated price for their shares and the potential to sell more further down the line if the club does well. They don’t care about football, so they won’t give a shit about who picks a DOF. They’re probably glad they don’t have to think about it. And the club doing well is obviously beneficial for everybody

It’s nobody’s ideal situation and it sticks in the throat that the Glazers have got exactly what they wanted, but it’s a LOT more positive than anything to do with the ownership for 18 years.

And all this shit about SRJ giving the Glazers a route to stay, but where was Qatar’s offer to blow everyone away? The only way they sold was some insane offer they couldn’t turn down. Qatar wouldn’t do it. SJR the only party willing to do anything to change anything.

It’s pretty clear that the Glazers still want out. It’s either going to be Jim, or someone else.

It looks like a very cleverly structured deal from both sides tbh.

Mutually beneficial

I think it also shows that the Qatar stuff was never as serious. Outright bids that were way off their valuation and no room to manoeuvre.
