Still really want to see Shaw play, mostly because I can't remember ever seeing him play at all. Wouldn't mind seeing what Rojo is like in the centre.

We flew out of the traps against QPR - shit opposition at OT.

Now we approach the first bend - tough one to negotiate but we have to win today. This game is bigger than the QPR game - we have to gather some momentum. 3 points is an absolute MUST for a shed full of reasons.

Just got back, turned on the TV & the first thing I see is all the Leicester fans pestering LvG for autographs & pics of him with them.

Everytime United get a corner

Di Maria does have games when he seems to give the ball away every time he has it, that match at the world cup a prime example, something like 50 times he gave the ball away. But I will take a positive risk taker over safe and passive every time, that is why Giggs was such a great player for Utd, was never worried if he gave the ball away trying the high risk, and that is why he ended up with 300+ assists in his Utd career.

Back to Di Maria for a second, he still ended up scoring the winner in that match at the WC, any risk taker needs the manager and fans to back them.

Pleased for Blackett, thought he might have made way for Shaw. He's made the odd error granted, but overall I think he's done well and deserves a place on merit so far. Nice to see an academy player coming through

Mata has scored a fair few recently but he's not got the qualities to play in RVP's position, so if we're going 4-3-3 I don't see how we could drop RVP for Mata. Surely the decision was between the three behind (Blind, Herrera, Di Maria), in which case leaving Mata out seems to be the wisest choice.

Not even going to mention dropping Rooney because at this point in time he's essentially undroppable, although that could change if he fails to perform at the tip of the diamond over the next few games. LVG won't tolerate shitty performances, whether Rooney is captain or not. Mata could end up in that position but I think Van Gaal appreciates Rooney's willingness to get back into the middle of the park to help defend, something Mata doesn't do.
I think it's just that away from home, Rooney in that position will be less a defensive liability and more dangerous on the counter.

Mata will be on if RVP is as bad as he was last week. Nobody is safe. Something we haven't had in years and years.

Rooney has been saying for a long time that his best position is the number 10 role, well now the manager is going to give him a chance to either prove he can do it or not...

After that boob against Swansea, he's done pretty creditably. Even more so considering what he was reportedly like at Birmingham
