Smarmy Moyes as a pundit. Just an irritating individual ....

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has been backed by former manager, David Moyes, after the Red Devils lost their opening day Premier League defeat against Swansea City today.

United lost 2-1 to the Swans, who they beat on the opening day of last season 4-1 with Moyes in charge. It was Van Gaal’s first competitive match as Man United manager and they went 1-0 down in the first half thanks to Ki Sung-Yeung’s clever finish from the edge of the area.

Moyes, though, who led United to a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League last season spoke in defence of Van Gaal on BeIn Sports, offering his backing to the Dutchman.

“Everybody knew it was going to take time,” said Moyes, in his role as a pundit for beIN Sports. “Taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson for anybody, it would take time.

“Louis van Gaal will need the time to do the job as well. He’ll need to have that opportunity to change things and get a team he wants.”

He was sacked the morning after the rumours started. Quicker than an awful lot of sackings. £#%&! the Glazers etc but its an odd thing to criticise the club for. Plenty of managers suffer through weeks or pre and post match interviews before they're given the shove.

the @#%&! had a contract that stipulated his termination compensation if he failed to qualify for the champions league - how much clearer could it have been? No CL - no moyes, thank you and good bye.

Can I no have more time?

Read your contract @#%&!o and gtf and take that shower of shit so called coaching staff with you.

I can actually see this @#%&!, trotting out at OT for some half arse testimonial in a few years time...

It will be like that episode of the Simpsons. The one which Mr. Burns wins a car at the Baseball match, the crowd are booing him and he's lapping up the applause like some simpleton.

Unfortunately, himself or Round or Neville won't be harmed by any pretzels

Probably as good an explanation for an otherwise baffling development as any
