I think bale was caught in a few minds and didn't know what he was going to do, thought he'd decide in the run-up and ended up doing the worst thing possible. Ronnie decides beforehand imo and Bruno is used to deciding late. Bale should've picked a side/height and hit it. He's well capable of hitting an unstoppable pen without a run-up imo.
