I have no problem criticizing Woodward; if someone in his finance department had this record after 6 years, they’d be gone. But it was the week to week, season to season performance of the managers and players that got us here. |

Surely the board having no real long term vision and appointing three very different managers in 6 years is a bigger reason why we're in this mess? Get the structure right above the manager and it makes the managers job that much easier. Liverpool, City and Spurs have proven that. All three of the previous managers made big mistakes, don’t think any one can disagree with that. But the way the club is run I have my doubts whether any manger in world football could make it work tbh. |

Woodward and the board don’t pick the players mate. They may decide a certain player is too expensive or set limits -ala Perisic- but they’re not out there scouting and foisting players van Gaal and Mourinho don’t want onto them. All this speculation that players like Di Maria were Woodward buys is just that, speculation; it’s highly unlikely, and only serves as an excuse for the shit job they did.
There’s obviously some truth to withdrawal of support for Mourinho when it comes to McGuire or other defenders he wanted, but do you think it’s unreasonable for the people running the club to ask what happened to the three defenders he’s already bought, and why they’re not playing? He had six centre backs and couldn’t get a tune out of any of them. |

Club signed Herrera and Shaw Van Gaal wasn’t allowed Mane or Fabinho. As Neville pointed out a couple of weeks ago, we have senior scouts that were brought in by Moyes, Van Gaal and Mou while also having Woodward selected people making decisions on players. It’s not all down to the manager and tbh that’s how it should be, but it shouldn’t be that a mishmash of people brought into the club by various people in a short period of time are all having their input. It’s no wonder we’ve got this unbalanced mess of a squad if that’s the any we’re doing things. The problems we have are bigger than who is sat in the dug out imo. If the structure above the manager is poor then the manager will always find it difficult. It’s why I’m all for some sort of structure being put in place now with the likes of Fletcher etc. Obviously time will tell whether they’re in roles to actually make a difference or just out there to take pressure off the owners and people running the club. |

And you structure any such deal with signing on fees and such, not through a basic wage which £#%&!s up the wage structure. Quote:
The entire strategy around team building has been wrong. It’s almost impossible to £#%&! it up if you have the funds. United have done it spectacularly, and it’s due to the motivations and lack of planning at the highest level. Quote:
