Other sensible CB options? Not seen enough of the big fella at Roma and there's £#%&! all chance of Juventus allowing Bonucci to leave (IMO). Happy enough with Smalling, Bailly, Blind and another but not sure who the latter should be.

I guess there's a few coming through the Academy too who don't really want their path blocked by another youngster signed for big money (thinking Varane).

Jones and Rojo need binning asap. One can't be relied on to stay fit the other is a fat turd.

Then sell them and get someone better than Fonte.

If you're feeling the need to add a sixth option at CB there's something a bit wrong.

Also doesn't give Tuanzebe much of a chance any time soon if he's effectively 7th pick.

Disgusting signing, but to be expected given the manager's history.

Be interesting to see how De Boer does at Inter. Hopefully get him in next summer.

Manchester United will offer Argentina defender Marcos Rojo, 26, to Southampton as part of a deal to sign Saints captain Jose Fonte. Arsenal also want the 32-year-old Portugal centre-back. (Daily Mirror)
Can we not offer Rojo to Arsenal?

Would rather keep Rojo.

Shit signing.

Or maybe he won't be. I dunno.

Does that mean we'll have to give them more money.

The scenes if he buys jones.

Arsenal fans suddenly act like he's Maldini and some on here gutted at our identity.

Cut to 3months later and he's out injured for 9months.

Joke, isn't it.

How about giving the kids some responsibility to grow into leaders? Y'know, a bit like the traditions Manchester United have been built on?

How about taking advantage of the brilliant pool of youngsters that have been left by the previous manager? Nah, lets block their progress with a 32-year old from Southampton?

If Rashford has no involvement on Friday, I want this eye-gouging parasite out of the club by Sunday latest. Plenty of decent options still out there - Low, Sabella, Prandelli, Pellegrini.

Transfer deadline day is drawing near, which means managers start to clam up about who they are looking to sign.

Southampton's Jose Fonte is rumoured to be on Manchester United's radar, probably as cover for new signing Eric Bailly, who is due to go to the African Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast in January.

Saints manager Claude Puel questioned the timing of such speculation on Wednesday.

Jose Mourinho was not interested in joining the debate.

"I don't comment. I don't care," he said.
