Considering it's Sunderland at home, I reckon Hargreaves offers far more upside at right back instead of Wes, than as a central midfielder where we can cope adequately with Carrick and Scholes.

Agree that a two man central midfield should start. But it'd be just our luck for those @#%&!s to have their best game this season

Why suggest Hargreaves when Simpson is waiting for a chance? Or is he injured? In which case try Pique?
