I really really really want to hate Argie but I can't which makes me want to hate him more. The thoroughly decent, talented, good looking insufferable @#%&! he is.

What about the hairlines though Argie? I won the hairlines. :MauMau:

Must have been two incompetent @#%&!s running the line - I couldn't make the Porto game

All sport should be played for enjoyment - which people call fun - and to be competitive. Otherwise, what's the point?
My point was you have to make football accessible to all, some want competitive games and others don't, both is fine by me.
Competitive football should not be about just winning though, we play teams that win at all costs, we focus on football and bringing the lads on and improving them.

The whole system needs a change, we are playing 9 aside with 10/11 year old lads on pitches just smaller than full size
That encourages long ball football and favours the big fast lads

I don't think so, but then if there was a bear football team at the world cup I dare say Fifa would let him represent them.

my middle child played in a very successful junior team - 2 of the lads are now pro footballers, one of them is larnell cole at utd

his coach had a win at all costs attitude - I recall one cup final when my lad was about 8 him coming up to me and asking my thoughts on his plan to play my lad as a man marker on the oppositions main man who was on citys books (still is), and also asked my permission to tell my lad to boot the blue @#%&! - all ok by me

we won 1-0, and had the coach adopted a "lets just enjoy it" attitude we would have got hammered

win win win
