I honestly think the only good game Akinfeev has ever played was at Old Trafford. He drops a clanger every game it seems and even Arsenal, who are obviously desperate for a keeper, dropped their interest long ago.

to replace scholes it has to be banega. made for us, absolutely made for us

What are you on about? Koppas has scouted him (watching one game on TV) and if that's not good enough for you (and Fergie) you can £#%&! right off.

Bale is absolutely brilliant at the moment and has been for a while now. One of the most exciting players in the league. I'd have him at OT in a heartbeat but it's not going to happen any time soon.

Shit.

We'd better get combing the portuguese 5th division right now then.

I'm going to go out and start kicking footballs at tramps on notting hill gate - whoever has the best reactions gets a trial.

Not signing Ozil wasn't enough for you...

Realistically, you'd want 2 world class signings in the summer, even if they dot retire, just to have them around and so scholesy can share his wisdom with the new guys.

If they retire this summer, it's going to be our most miserable summer in years.
Still suspect they will call it a day in 2012, when I also expect SAF to.

Now if the gimps are still leeching this club dry by then, THAT would be depressing

I like the look of the Ajax keeper.

FWIW I think we'll have to sign two new keepers because PIG will probably pack his bags if a new number one arrives.

we're quite lucky in the fact that mancini is happy with hart, ancelotti happy with cech, the dippers adore reina and even spurs are happy with gomez so it wont be a case of being gazumped in the market by any of them. replacing edwin will be just as hard as replacing schmeichel. the only player i could see doing it with relative ease would be buffon.

other than that, id be happy to give kuszshack a go he's nowhere near as bad as some would make out.

He's probably the best number two in europe, and to be fair, he deserves a crack at it.

hilarious isnt it

kuszczak is miles better as a back up keeper than 95% of them, if not 100%

he is, but he's not got the characteristics to be our no 1 even on his best days. appalling with the ball at his feet for one thing and that alone disqualifies him as a no 1 for us imo. spills too many shots back out, doesn't command his area enough and has poor distribution. good shot-stopper, strong hands/wrists, brave enough but not a no 1 in a million years.

VDS rubbishes the story.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...434455,00.html

"That's complete nonsense. I do not know where this story comes from but it is nonsense," van der Sar told www.sport-promotion.nl.

"I don't yet know whether I will stop or continue after this season. Only in the course of this season will I think about it."
