The weekends games have definitely raised it from a 1/5 to a 3/5 for me.. fans in the stadium makes a huge £#%&!ing difference

Got to say: the opening ceremony was spot on imo

I usually hate them. In fact, I was laughing at how cheap this one was at first.

But Nessun Dorma plus those fireworks plus some gadge in a blue jacket... fantastico

Every major championship, I always forget how much fun walk to wall footy is.

Just turned the telly on and completely forgot, there’s Scotland getting @#%&!ted on a Monday afternoon.

I was always opposed to spreading out the tournament across the continent, but I'm the opposite of Neo in that it hasn't bothered me anything like as much as I thought it would.

For me, the host nation is intrinsically linked with the identity of a major competition, and adds to the charm - Italia '90, USA '94, Euro '96, France '98, Russia 2018 etc. Great tournaments.

I like how there's often a chance to learn more about a particular host city, and there's always a proper buzz whenever the hosts play. This current format seems a complete mess. Apparently it's only a one-off as Platini did it to mark the 60th anniversary of the Euros, but with the money involved I wouldn't be surprised if it catches on. Hope not.
I agree, this tourment has no ID. When Azerbaijan and Romania host few of the matches when nether qualified for the tournament you know its shit. I think if they are doing something like this in the future they should minimum require all of the hosting countries to qualify for the final tourment.

At very least acording to wiki 2024 is supposed to be exclusive held in Germany.

The games are fine. Spainzzzzz a bit boring. But do prefer getting immersed in the culture of a far flung land. Or France. And the theme tunes are £#%&!ing terrible.

i'm with you, its a dogs breakfast having so many host cities and certain teams getting full/partial/zero home advantage

also really miss the buzz of THE host country (a couple is palatable, but this?) playing.

That's how it goes if you have just one game on the opening day.
