Don’t be silly. Nobody watches sport for any drama, excitement or emotion!

Didn’t Saffers actually say that?

“If you want entertainment, go to the cinema”

I wouldn't normally quote him like this, but he loves asking people for receipts.

The teary eyed sentimental crap from many among our support is just embarrassing and weak.

He failed, he’s gone, done.

Celebrate 1999 all you want but don’t pretend he should ever have been given the job to start with, and wouldn’t if there wasn’t all the needy ‘club legend’, ‘he gets us’, ‘in our dna’, ‘Ole at the wheel’.

Total embarrassing bullshit.

Managers are there to run the club with an iron fist and get results not £#%&!ing be players mates and ‘try a bit harder next week’.

Too many soft arses about nowadays. He’s not dead. We have a new manager, get over it.

It’s not like his name wasn’t sung at the last 2 games.. is it.

The most backed. If any of our previous managers had been given such backing they may have succeeded. This guy got worse and worse.

Agreed. Imagine getting pissed off by a banner supporting an ex player.

Nobody is getting teary eyed . It’s a £#%&!ing banner at a football game that will be forgotten about 5 mins in. The fans just like to support the club. He is apart of the club. 99% of Man Utd fans wanted him to go because he wasn’t good enough for the job in the end. Nobody is asking for statues to be put outside.

He was part of one the , if not the most greatest night in the history of the club. So yes he is different to all these other managers, he gave us a moment that 90% people won’t have in their lifetime. A last min winner to seal the treble. I’m not saying he should be lauded and given the keys to OT but at the other end of the spectrum the guys getting wound up at a banner is just as bad as the extreme claims that “people are getting teary eyed and sentimental”

Exactly.

And it’s remembering him as a PLAYER. Everyone saying ‘move on’. They have. New boss. Let’s forget how it all ended and remember him the way he should be remembered. It doesn’t affect our progress from this point in any way. The banner doesn’t mean Rangnick isn’t wanted. We have Best statues, Fergie stands and we sing cantona songs at Christmas. All part of the fun. Maybe we should ‘move on’ and throw all those out too.

The reaction to people showing a LITTLE emotion and a bit of love towards beloved ex players is £#%&!ing embarrassing. Like they’re trying to turn supporting your football club into some cold business venture. Manager hire. Manager fail. Business. Move on. Human ‘love’ confuse.

The banner will be forgotten 5 mins into the game. Complaints of being overly-sentimental yet news of some fabric with a picture of a club legend appearing at OT and they go into doom overdrive .

Sound like they’re the emotional ones getting angry over a banner. Some fans love to champion the players when they post Instagram videos and have dedicated celebrations but a BANNER!!!!!? …. At a FOOTBALL MATCH…..OF AN EX PLAYER?!?! . Fold the club

I don't care about the banner and, as long as it doesn't influence important decision making, fans can sit round a candle lit Ole vigil if it helps them with closure.

You have a point. If Joel sees the banner then Ole’s back at the wheel no question.

Few strong whispers he's being lined up for the Everton job.
