One thing this rash of egomaniacs has demonstrated is that we don't need a slew of keen but talentless football media in the same way we don't need a slew of keen amateur surgeons.

Wrong

We need the amateur surgeons to (unsuccessfully) operate on the talentless football media

Mixed feelings about this one for me. Highlight of the observer football writing season was always the fans view at the end of the season when fans like big Shaun od stepped up to summarise the whole thing. More so than the fanzines that seem to be politically motivated a lot of the time.

Certainly have more time for his view and others like him than I do for a media that currently is either too scared or too compromised to lay into sir wayne Rooney for example.

The full time crew are a more difficult proposition tbf - I would listen to webby and Andy Tate, believe it or not, over motd/sky/bt punditry all day long but there are 1000's of others that make me very very angry.

People are watching this Chelsea dweeb (who looks and reminds me of that football statistician we used to take the piss out of?) because he's a dweeb, not because he's some football sage.

Overall though, it should irritate me more than it does.

maybe a part of you wishes you were younger so you could be involved in these post match analyses?
don't mean that as a dig, i for one would watch if you were on.

Actually, now that I think of it, we are crying out for dignified gentlemen in their autumn years to share their insights into the games. The whole industry atm is dominated by lookingforerics and hugos.

We need you out there keith. You are the hero that gotham deserves.

Imagine Chelsea getting rid of Mourhino, it's like us getting rid of SAF, it's completely bonkers. I hope they eventually do and he comes to us and he makes us the best again, it would be as funny as Fook that would be, listening to the Chelsea fans saying they never wanted him to go.

That's all well and good, but comparing Mourinho's importance to Chelsea to Fergie's importance to United is ludicrous. You'd have more of a point if you said Abramovich rather than Mourinho

Are you not worried that you've been defeated by modern football?

I'm certainly getting less and less angry about these bizarre Kling-ons

I wasn't intending to compare them as a like for like at all, it's impossible to compare SAF with anyone, no other manager has stayed at one club and been so dominant as he was. My point is more the fact that Mourhino has won a stack load of trophies at Chelsea, plus everywhere else as well and the Chelsea fans see him as a Chelsea legendary manager, like we saw with SAF and they would be mad to get rid of him IMO, especially after just winning the Premiership and League cup, now that is ludicrous.

They won the CL by some miracle, just like Liverpool did, they were nowhere near the best team at that time. It's the old saying, if you're names on the cup. Mourhino is a Chelsea legend and that's a fact and if they are mad enough to get rid of him, it's their look out, the last time he left was because him and Abramovich locked horns, not because he wasn't winning cups, he was. I hope they do get rid and he comes to us, I think he's the best manager in the world.

Chelsea are underperforming terribly and it's mostly his fault.
