Barca havent beaten atleti all year.

If atleti beat malaga at home, they take the league imo.

Very average standard overall really, the scouse love in has partially obscured it ,not just Utd, the whole league has regressed from around 2010. City should be strolling it considering the money spent, but they are really just the best of a bad bunch, shown by their continuing failures in Europe.

Arsenal are going to end up 7 points off the title and it is a really poor Arsenal compared to some of their best sides, even from 3/4 years ago when they trailed Utd and Chelsea but had Van Persie, Fabregas, Nasri, Arshavin when he could be bothered.

It's this modern day obsession with neat & tidy, inoffensive 'number tens' who are clogging up the game at the minute.
Hazard, Mata, Oscar, Kagawa, Goetze, etc...
Lazy 'flicks' & zero responsibility.
They don't want to be the one responsible for the goals or making runs & they don't want to defend either.
A luxury position for the typical modern footballer in his paper thin boots.
They want to walk the ball into the net in 5-a-side fashion.

None of our great sides have ever carried such a player so why should we start now?

We've always had split strikers where one comes a bit deeper - Eric, Hughesie, Yorke, Sheringham etc... but they were all strong as £#%&! & hard working £#%&!ers too.

sick of the lack of truly great players in the game these days.
State of Champions League football in the 90s when you had Zidane, Del Piero, Rivaldo, Romario, Baggio, Ronaldo etc...

There's only about 4 players in the world worth watching these days.

Yeah. I think it's quite a tough league and has plenty of decent sides, but not one outstanding side.

City got outplayed three times in Europe. Chelsea with losses to PSG and Atleti; beaten twice by Basel. Showed the league up, really.

honestly pal, not my cup of tea at all.
People talk about them with such reverence yet they very rarely put in anything other than 'meh' performances.
I think Football over the last 3-4 years has really lost it's way.

Gary Neville's nicked MJ's log-in.

He should have watched Luca Modric give a consummate lesson in how to play that role the other night.

Talent drain of the likes of Bale, Ronaldo, Fabregas, former great players going past their prime and or leaving, amongst others Drogba, Gerrard, Ferdinand, Terry, Ashley Cole, Rooney and Van Persie arguably.

All damages the overall quality because great players at their prime raise the standards of their team-mates.

I am no sage like MJ but even I thought that towards the end of the Chelsea game.

Hazard and Will.I.An. arsing about, finally get a cross in and nobody on the end of it, bar Ivanovic (who I really like) busting a gut to try and get on the end of it.

No bs, an Andy Carroll would have won that today for them. Certain football truths never die.

Moving on from the Premiershite for a moment, Gateshead one game away from returning to the Football League after over half a century

MJ's had a shocker here

There are plenty of talented footballers out there but the problem in the Premier League is that there are a load of badly coached sides

Chelsea had a lot of talented players on the field but they had no idea how to break Norwich down and just played as individuals

I also think a lot of sides don't have a deep lying midfielder who can play quick early forward passes to the front players so they can attack the opposition defence before they have a chance to get men behind the ball
Apart from Liverpool teams seem to pass the ball so slowly through midfield

This is a scandalous comment from Mourinho and would have been meme'd, retweeted 2000 times, put on a flag etc IF it was Moyes saying it;

You can sort of understand what he is saying, though - a draw was no more use than a loss to Norwich really
