It clearly depends on what you think you need to do. There’s a bit of hot air about the state of the place so the glazers set off on a zero cost design exercise. My view is that you actually don’t need to do much if you want to retain the character of the place - which I would like to do. The stadium can be improved and extended if necessary in phases.

£1b buys you a brand new stadium and concert venue. In London. We simply don’t need that. I’d be surprised if we need to spend more than £25m-£50m.

I'm no expert, but I can't see that at all.

If you're going to do it, do it properly or not at all (Real Madrid are going state-of-the-art with their renovation and paying about €800m). One thing I do think any owner is going to want is more and upgraded corporate boxes/facilities. Add the work on the South stand and the issue with the railway line, the roof etc and you're way over that.

As I say I'm basing this off stuff I've read online from construction/architecture sources.

£1bn bought you a new stadium in London 3 years ago. Doubt it would now tbh.

If you’re extending over the south stand then you’re into hundreds of millions. The bottom line is that there’s an expectation to improve the stadium but no definition of what that means and definitely no need to start again.

I say this based on the fact that the lead project manager who delivered Spurs and the Emirates is a personal friend.

Well the Glazers have had plans drawn up by the consultants that did Spurs' ground - of course they have no intention of actually funding the work but the initial assessment has been done.

Will be up to the new owners to decide if and how far they want to do any redevelopment, or a full rebuild.

Yep. Best hope from here is that all 20 PL clubs get disgraceful owners.

Let’s all get on the gear and slug it out 👍

He references the Dubai takeover twice too, so he’s nailing his colours on this one.

When the Saudi sponsorship went out the window there was talk that it was precipitated by the interest from Dubai.
