I fully expect this to now pivot to leaks of boardroom battles between SJR and the Glazers - more distraction for a club that has badly lost its way. This ownership model does not exist in football for good reason and it wasn't done for the betterment of MUFC, but to extract more value for the Glazers and become a vanity project for SJR. |

So their collective ownership has been reduced to around 52%, from 69%, presumably making Jim the big individual owner. although crucially, well short of the family total. An unknown further acquisition for Jim, pending a further investment of $200,000 by the end of 2024 should narrow the gap down a bit further. Wonder if that might reach a further 2%+, leaving the @#%&!s vulnerable to being oosted. Probably not. |

I'd much prefer not to be this way, but with the game as it is now, there's a lot of clubs that don't have same protection in place with 25% being owned by someone who cares, and is probably looking to increase that % share in time and can back it up with the cash. If Fenway decide to sell up one day, then tough shit, they better hope whoever comes in isn't a Todd Boehly'esque idiot. Between that, state ownership and where we are now, I think we're in a better position in terms of ownership that other clubs. The best we can hope for now is that they can somehow be squeezed out over time. |

Doesn’t actually mention anything about what INEOS will or won’t do or how the deal is/could be mutually beneficial One of Britain’s most successful businessmen isn’t going to be part with a billion and a half quid (money he could never back through dividends) unless he stands to gain from it or has influence Our biggest concern with him shouldn’t be his intentions, but whether he does the job well. |

Looked likely, but as it’s gone on, it’s become clear they really don’t want to sell. It irks that it’s a great deal for them…but it can also be a great to deal for us |

But (only) 2bn euros in profit (approximately). They've not got billions to waste for example; we're not going to do what city have done and just plough through players until the manager finds one he wants. Point being the budget isn't unlimited, but as we all know that's not an issue providing the proper persons and structure is implemented throughout the footballing infrastructure. It's not too late to 'rescue' the club but they have to act reasonably quickly and effectively imo. |

I'd rather they didn't just throw money in; that's been part of the disaster. We need a clear and coherent strategy with competent people running the show.
Identify the extraordinary talent worthy of playing for Manchester United - develop it or buy it. Hungry players, not those looking for a pay day. The draw of playing in front of 70k crowds at home for a club with an incredible history. With our muscles and name it won't take long to rise back up once we get a structure in place. Shifting the dead wood has started - need to keep our nerve and carry on. |
