Erik got it badly wrong but like others have said, it didn’t feel as painful as it should have done. I still find city strolling to another title and having one of the best teams of recent times pretty £#%&!ing irritating though. I blame levy to an extent for not allowing the kane transfer.

Saying that I switched off at half time and took the dog on an ‘angry at the football’ walk. She can see it in my eyes. she’s now used to me dealing with humiliating defeats by going on aggressive dog walks.

We go again and I’ll go on plenty more dog walks like that this season.

Still a bit surprised by the confidence on here pre match. Weird. We’re absolutely miles off city.

Totally.

Move on and look to the next game.

That in itself, though, speaks volumes for what ETH has done in the short time he has been here. First half was horrific but second half, I think we done alright. Scored three goals too which can't be sniffed at.

it's even a bit harsh saying we collapsed in the first half. we didn't have any midfield cover (10h's fault), we kept giving the ball to city (rashers, sancho, eriksen and bruno all guilty) and they were "clinical" (everything seemed to go in). I blame the set-up. wasn't expecting to win - and we won't win anything with our current midfield options - but we certainly could have made them work for it.

was that the sancho one?

He was particularly poor yesterday.

Jury definitely still out. Gave absolutely no cover to Malacia, and I doubt that was the instruction.

"You have to be proactive from the start and we weren't, meaning we had to change things. Watching the first goal back, we won the ball in a good position on the field and we could have countered them, but we gave the ball away and the reaction after was like a pack of cards [falling]."

Martial couldn’t start he’s not played for 6 weeks?

Rashford probably shouldn’t have started as he’s not trained for 3 weeks, or since the Arsenal game.

Ronaldo is a waste of time. Our attacking options are pathetic tbh. Pellistri and Elanga on the bench?

I’ve not seen it, heard he went over on his ankle though?

Was 1-0 when he got injured wasn’t it? I nipped out to drop the youngest somewhere, was 1-0 and Varane was there when I went and 3-0 and Lindelof in place when I returned.

Wingers help Dalot and Malacia and it's a totally different game. Antony can be excused to a degree but I am fast losing patience with Sancho.

He went off temporarily, which led to their second goal from a corner as it ended up with Eriksen picking up (or failing to) Haaland.

And that yellow card after 90 seconds ffs

city targeted the right back last season aswell overloaded that side with grealish silva and anyone else both games ..leaving the right back marking 2 and 3 players and pulling the centre half out to cover and open up spaces ..

I hate to say that as I know who is gonna quote this message but £#%&!ing de gea should have been attacking the spaces KDB was putting the ball.

if he came off his line he stops two of those goals or even gets a foul in the process.

also the defenders should have been cutting those balls out.

A few culpable. Eriksen doesn't (/can't) track Foden on first goal .. he's in acres of space on 5 yard box first 10 min of game ffs. 2nd goal its left to Sancho to track KDB (can't, obv). 3rd goal Malacia gets outran/outmuscled by Foden w/ Haaland dragging 5 towards him then that's game set match.

Can't be leaving so much space and playing on the back foot. Eriksen for example tried but just didnt have the legs to get back on 2 of the first 3 goals. The worst was Lindelof on the 5th .. looked utterly dazed & confused in about 3 consecutive passages of play before they scored. Not sure where / what The Scottish Player was doing for any of the goals tbh.

The 2nd and 3rd goals I dare say Varane would have dealt with?

The 2nd he wasnt on the pitch and the 3rd he clearly was struggling

His ankle turned. Looked nasty.

It was terrible luck. Off for the corner which freak scores from with a free header. Then is hobbling for the next one when the ball gets played to freak again. Game over at that point.

IMO De Gea could have saved two of their goals, or at least made something resembling an effort. I'm talking Haaland's second or Foden's third. Still haven't seen Haaland's third or Foden's second but wouldn't be surprised if the goat faced #@&%! didn't move for them either.

Nice to see forum generally chilled about it. We're in 6th, having played city, scousers and arsenal in the first seven games (and took six points from those three). Of course we're not going to be close to winning he league but only a mentalist would have thought that anyway.
